• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

    Suggestion Box

i'd prefer that this be left as a referee quirk, given there's no sort of ingame precedent for it and i was totally unaware that it was even a thing until eifie mentioned it. regardless, there oughta be some sort of surgeon general's warning that some refs do so on the move pages, if this is in...

The issue is the fact that when Hex and Venoshock are used at full power, they're 13% damage for 3% energy (or 16% and 2% if used with STAB, aka most of the time they're used) with a setup that's very easy in ASB. If you ask me they ought to have the energy bump up a bit anyway, because 10 for 3...

The command order reversal was modified such that you can't do that anymore. Truant seems to have been buffed already - loafing around recovers energy and you gain a 2% damage booost - but yeah Defeatist is still a straight nerf when Archen and Archeops' base attack stats aren't a thing.

    Suggestion Box

Could we nerf Venoshock? Currently, if the target is poisoned, it ends up doing 16% damage at 2% energy cost after STAB. Hex is pretty nasty too, but it at least gets its energy cost doubled before STAB...

    Suggestion Box

In general I'm fine with this for things like Counter and Avalanche, but yeah I'm not so sure I agree with the ruling applying to Focus Punch. In-game, the message that the Pokémon is using Focus Punch has some positive priority, so I'd always thought of it as needing the whole action to build...

Muscle Band and Wise Glasses are flat 2% boosts at the end. Right now the only multiplier items are the Choice items and the type gems. So I don't see a problem with 1.2, but it seems kind of... underwhelming.

Nope! Anyone can go ahead and make a Meta thread if they want.

    Suggestion Box

The thought has crossed my mind before, and it looks like other people would be at least interested in the articles, so I'll go ahead and make a thread for them! It could also serve as a general-purpose reffing advice thread, which has been missing so far.

    Suggestion Box

Yeah, I'm really no fan of it either. I went along with it when pathos commanded it in his battle with uv, but at reduced priority iirc. I'm all for straight up disallowing it under most circumstances, though.

Why does Marvel Scale activation cost upkeep? It makes sense for Reflect since it's consciously being held up by the user, but I've always thought of abilities as being instinctive for the Pokémon...

    Suggestion Box

I think EXP requirements in general are fine as they are. The point as I see it is to keep the league from being dominated by teams of fully evolved Pokémon, as it was in the days before it was implemented and you could just buy an evolution with a little time and money. I'd only ease them...

... anything for poor, poor Slowbro, tragically outshone by their younger cousin? :( I know it got kinda derailed into a more general conversation about trade evos, but nobody seems to have given more than halfhearted statements about it.

    Suggestion Box

that was pretty much what I meant in my Slowbro suggestion. also giving my support to the link cable idea; it sounds like much less of a hassle than battling under a different OT.

    Suggestion Box

Would anyone else support lowering the exp requirements for Slowbro's evolution? As of right now, it's straight up inferior to Slowking, which evolves in one battle for the same speed and movepool, and you can't plausibly get 4 exp in a similar timespan. Maybe change it to 2/3 exp or be out in...

    Suggestion Box

I think Volcarona would be most appropriate, given its place in the banner, or Ralts, being the single most common Pokémon in the league at the moment. (I vote Charizard out of those, though)

    Suggestion Box

I was originally kind of ehhh toward the idea but upon further consideration of the fact that I'm planning to get a Larvesta: all for it

    Suggestion Box

I like the Moon Stone being 1% fairy damage and 1% normal energy proposal, particularly given that Skitty is the only (pure) normal line to evolve with it now. (Jigglypuff, but it benefits from any adjustments.) Who said the stones need to have consistent effects anyway? It's not like this makes...

    Suggestion Box

I agree. Perhaps someone should make a separate thread for proposals about balancing recovery? I would go ahead and do it, but I worry that'd be overstepping as someone who isn't league staff these days.

    Suggestion Box

Something minor that I would assume is relatively easy: could list sorting be added to the database? Particularly movesets.
